I finally got the camera I've been wanting for a long time! The original SX-70 is now a part of my Polaroid camera family. It is very unique because its the only SLR in the SX-70 series, I love it because you can take pictures up to 10 inches from your subject.
I took a risk buying it "AS IS" ($75) at a GoodWill auction. Sadly, it did arrive broken.
I took it apart after finding an online repair guide that suggested it could be a broken coupler. Turned out it was and I was able to make the quick repair. The leather on the camera had to be removed but it was well worth it. Below is a test shot I took after repairing the camera.
- Polaroid Folding SX-70 SLR
- 600 Watt Super 8 Light
- Impossible COLOR SHADE PUSH
Always carry empty film packs to test potential cameras you may want to buy. You dont want to waste your precious Polaroid film testing for mechanical malfunctions.
