I was bummed out when my Impossible pack of Polaroid film died in my camera. Every now and then, the battery pack in the film will die, rendering your film useless. Without battery power, the camera cannot force the film through the rollers, evenly distributing the processing chemicals throughout the picture. Instead of tossing the film, I pulled the pack out of the camera and manually pushed the chemicals out of the pod with the blunt end of my X-acto knife. The results were pretty interesting, it almost looks like a little expressionist painting.
