Pop

The sound of two bottles of soda rolling along the floor of the car as it brakes to a halt. It's hot outside, the bottles collide, chiming.  Brake, roll, crash.

Not even the shopping carts are safe in L.A.

Record stores disappeared, bookstores are struggling to stay in business, Amazon is working on having everything delivered to you instantly.  The 3D printing industry is growing exponentially.  From toiletries to major household items, more and more people are making their purchases online. How much longer before brick and mortar stores become a thing of the past?

tapes

tapes

I used to stuff the ends of my dads tapes with paper and record myself over them. It was mostly me quoting Looney Tunes cartoons or just swearing. I was 5.

He laughs about it now...now.

Another Great Find

sonar2

Here's a little gem I picked up at the Bargain Camera Show in Pasadena.  I wasn't going to buy anything but I couldn't resist the price, half of what it currently sells for on eBay. A fully functioning folding SLR with SONAR assisted auto-focusing. The latch on the film door tends to break often on these folding SLR's, finding one in great condition with a working film door was something I couldn't pass up.

Checkout the Bargain Camera Show if you live in the OC/LA area. Not only will you find a treasure trove of analog cameras but you can also get your broken cameras repaired. The vendors are very friendly and knowledgeable. Oh, and don't forget to bargain with them!

Flowers

flower lady

Hurts me to see a lady in her late 60's selling flowers by the freeway. I wish she was in her warm home, sitting on a snug chair she bought at a Fedco 30 years ago. Unfortunately that's not the case.
